Tracker Certification in West Texas 04/03/2010

Published on April 5, 2010 under Certifications

The Conservation Biology Club of Sul Ross University (Alpine Texas), hosted a certification on April 3rd, 2010. We visited Monahans Sand Hills State Park on day 1 and Terlingua Creek (near Big Bend National Park) on day 2. We saw the tracks of 27 species, including 15 mammals, 6 birds, 2 herps, and 4 invertebrates.  Some of the highlights were the tracks of a badger foraging for food, great-horned owl tracks, bobcat tracks, and turkey vulture tracks.

Congratulations to David Mahler for achieving Level II and to Sally Street and Reagan Gage for earning Level 1.
